uh I worked all night on this. I mean I was reading the book and suddenly I begun to sketch Hiro's face cause I couldn't figure out how the heck he looked like and it sort of blocked... the flow of the story, you know? so next thing I'm doing (till 5.56 am) is getting this one a face! ahahha; I am pretty pleased of how it turned out; for now =P
he's supposed to be a Korean and African-American cross-breed, so... :shrug:
the cuneiforms in the background say: To condense fact from the vapor of nuance. which is a line from the actual novel, Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson
a nice thing there, hmmmm, also to point out some of the plot which I will not reveal cause it is too damn beautiful :evillaugh:

Thank you SOOOO much for this sensitive and accurate portrait.  Have you noticed that most of the Snow Crash covers with Hiro show either a silhouette or back view?  This isn't just an issue with Snow Crash. Others have noted that publishers in certain genres and certain locations go out of their way to avoid showing main characters of non-European descent on book covers, out of fear that putting a non-white person on the cover may hurt sales.  

And the few covers that have Hiro in profile or three-quarter view portray him with Caucasian features. One didn't even bother to get the hair right.

So your portrayal is really a breath of fresh air.
